Star Trek X1 - Film Review - The Best Yet!

I have today seen Star Trek X1 and I have to say I was utterly delighted.

Being a bit of a Trekky, I was a little worried about the prospect of a new breed of Star Trek actors performing as a younger version of Star Trek's original cast.

How could anyone be James T Kirk other than the great comical actor William Shatner?

Answer...Chris Pine!

Not only does Chris Pine look like he actually could be a young William Shatner but he did an excellent portrayal of the original Captain JT Kirk. He had all the original's nuances and of course tribute must be paid to thescript writers for ensuring continuity of character.

The young JT Kirk was just as rambunctious as the older JT Kirk and just as womanising.

The rest of the cast were similarly well chosen for their roles and all did an excelltent job of being the young enterprise crew. So good, that I could quite easily watch this cast do a spin off of the original series. They are totally believable.

Character acting aside, the film of course had all the elements of a great action film. Excellent special effects, fast paced on the edge of your seat drama, humour and passion.

I reccomend this to Trekky fans, as you won't be disappointed. It is possibly the best Star Trek film yet.
