Complaints about Michael Jackson Coverage

The BBC has had complaints in the hundreds about the coverage they are giving Michael Jackson since his death a few days ago.

Despite what Michael Jackson fans believe not everyone in the world has an interest in his passing anymore than they had in him when he was alive. As sad as it may be to his fans, it doesn't impact on everyone who knew of him in the same way . As such they object to being subjected to what they see as too much coverage.

On the subject of Michael Jackson's talent, I agree he was an icon to many people, but for me he was mediocre.

I base this view on the simple fact that I never once bought any of his music or chose to listen to it when it was playing on the radio. This tells me that everyone else whose music I did buy was better...in my opinion at least.

This would go I imagine for everyone else who neglected to buy this 'icons' music.

However, I do recognise that Michael Jackson's families influence, money and power and the manufactured 'wierd' image catapulted Michael into a nother league compared to other singers and that his albums sold to a world wide audience.

No doubt there will be channel to channel coverage of the funeral/memorial.

I won't be watching though.
