As a single female I have considered the various options open to me for meeting a compatible male for dating purposes.
Sounds rather clinical when I put it like that doesn’t it? Well that is perhaps because in this fast modern world even the most natural of things are now being artificially created in order to accommodate our need for speed.
We want everything yesterday. As a result romance is becoming confined to some new and unusual situations not least speed dating.
I’ve been asked to go speed dating with a few of my pals and despite my disbelief that anything other than physical attraction can be ascertained in such a brief period of time i.e. 3minutes of conversation, I do think it could be fun.
I’ve done a little bit of digging online and the routine is fairly simple, you pop along to an organised event armed with a list of questions and have 3 minutes to chat to every chap that turns up for the event. I assume there is a limit to how many can attend these events or you’d be chatting all night. At the end of the speed dating session, you tick boxes to indicate which males/females you are interested in and if you happen to tick the box of someone who reciprocates with a tick for you, you are advised and details can be exchanged so you can yourself make further contact.
The only problem I have with this is that you are essentially exchanging contact details with someone you may have met for just 3 minutes and that part I would not feel comfortable with.
Ways around this would be to exchange mobile numbers only and never give out address details to someone you have only just met.
