Teenagers 'sexting' and posting naked pictures on FaceBook - what next?

Most people are learning about the hazards of sharing naked pictures of themselves via mobile phones as they can be shared but it's still a growing trend amongst young teenagers. Naked or sexy pictures are passed around amongst friends via their friends and can often fall into the wrong hands. This ritual of teens taking naked pictures with their phones is called 'sexting'.

"A nearly naked 15-year-old Manhattan girl bent over in front of a mirror, put a camera between her legs and, click, sent a photo of her nude backside to her boyfriend - who then had no problem forwarding the pics to The Post.
"I didn't even know what to think," he said. "I was confused."
Twenty percent of 13- to 19-year-olds admitted they've messaged explicit images of themselves over the phone and e-mail, and 48 percent said they've received sexually suggestive e-mails or text messages, according to a national study published last month."
It is also a trend amongst young teenagers to take naughty or sexy pictures of themselves and post them on social networking sites like FaceBook and Bebo.This is a very worrying trend as you never know who is accessing these pictures, copying them or how they might affect your life later down the line.

"Facebook and MySpace are crawling with groups with names like "I've Sent Naked Pictures of Myself Over the Phone," "People Who Take Naked Pictures of Themselves with Their Phones," and "Practicing Safe Sexting." The latter group advises, "Don't do it in school" and "Don't do it with a minor."
If you are under the age of consent for sex, my advice is not to take naked pictures of yourself. Play safe, think of how the pictures might be used and respect yourself.
You have plenty of time for sexy fun when you're adult and legal and have a greater awareness of the consequences.
However if you are an adult, taking sexy pictures of yourself and your partner can enhance your sex life.
Couples often enjoy taking naked and saucy photographs of each other. These are usually a private collection but if you're not careful they can end up on the Internet as Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Chanelle Hayes and fellow celebs have found to their cost. Some top celebs have sex videos not just naked photos of themselves splashed around the Internet. I am sure it was not their intention that these sex videos become pulbic.
If you and your partner want to indulge in some sexy naked photo fun, then take precautions. These precautions could be that you only take headless shots or that you dress up so if the pics do end up on the Internet people won't necessarily recognise you and you can deny all knowledge!
Keep the naked picturess on the camera for viewing only, don't upload naked pictures of yourself or partner to your PC. I advise against sharing naked pictures via mobile phones. I know many chaps who aren't quite gentlemen when it comes to showing their mates naked pictures of their girlfriends on their phones. And they are more likely to do this when that girlfriend becomes an ex-girlfriend.
Whatever you do, be careful, cautious and only engage in this naughty camera action if you trust the person, but also be aware accidents can still happen. Friends using friends Pc's and so on. You might not be that fussed now about naked images of yourself appearing on the Internet, but when a future employer Googles your name it might be less appealing if it costs you a future job or career break.
Think now about how naked photo's might affect your future.
