It's a tricky one isn't.

Is he being careful with money (very important in a recession) or is he just a tight ass?

Your boyfriend or husband tells you not to buy supermarket vegetables when you can grow your own.

Is he helping to preserve your health by encouraging you to eat organic or is he just being a tight ass?
