Family bonding is one way of developing the personality and character of the children. Why not give them a new experience? This refers to taking them to an outdoor camping. If you have a big backyard, maybe you can start from here. Then later, you can take them to other camping areas which can be challenging even to you, the parents.
Even if you are just having your camping at your backyard, have the necessary equipments. This will give the children the real feel of the activity. Do what is normally done if you are doing your camping in a real camping site.
Start with the clothes and personal hygiene paraphernalia. You can let the children do the packing, the choosing of the things to bring. This will open their eyes to the necessities in a camping adventure. For the other things, you can do the packing, with their assistance on things they can carry and prepare.
Even if it is just at your backyard, bring the tent and have it assembled before the eyes of the kids. Again, this is an opener for them and definitely a new experience. They can play inside or just take a nap therein. Did you plan activities for the children? You should because if not, they have nothing to pass their time with and consequently will be bored. If this happens, then the camping experience will be a failure. As such, they may not want other camping escapades, thinking that every camping will be the same as this.
One suggested activity for the children is biking around. Then maybe you can give them the experience of bathing outside of the house's bathroom. If you have a faucet in your backyard, attach a hose and have them take a bath from the hose. Nothing can beat the outdoor games so even a plain tug game can give the children joy. Or hide and seek can be a good outdoor game for you and the kids. A scavenger hunt is another alternate way to pass the time in an outdoor camping.
Compass will educate your children. This will teach them to locate directions. So pack a compass with your camping gear and start teaching them to read this valuable camping device. And when meal time comes, the whole family eats together sitting on a laid down blanket. Teach them to throw their trash properly, if possible, they should be taught the correct waste disposal - segregated!
Isn't the camping a good way to bond together? At the same time they undergo a learning process. Although you can teach them theoretically, the actual experience will be more rewarding.
