For Devin DeVasquez Playboy was a culmination of her desire to be known as one of the world's most desirable models. It is certainly true that pin-up beauties such as Marilyn Monroe, Pamela Anderson and Anna Nicole Smith used Playboy magazine as a way to boost their career. The exposure brought these women millions of new fans and helped them develop a new mystique that made them seem more unattainable than ever before. Devin DeVasquez was born on June 25, 1963 and the shy little girl from Baton Rouge, Louisiana had a difficult life during her early years. Until the age of 16 she spent her days in a series of foster homes but even then she was dreaming about one day becoming a top model. By the time she was a 17 year old college freshman Devin DeVasquez was pictured as one of the scantily clad females in the controversial 1981 pictorial, "Girls of the SEC".
She was posing in the nude at the age of 19 and working to refine her modeling techniques. 1985 brought the young woman to the Playboy Empire where she was chosen to grace the June pages of Heffner's magazine.
After this national exposure Devin DeVasquez signed with the Elite Modeling Agency, was seen as a spokesmodel contestant on the "Star Search" television show and continued to do catalogue modeling for Sears, Montgomery Ward and other retail stores.
She also won the Star Search competition which added 100K to her bank account, boosted her visibility in Hollywood and spurred Playboy to feature her once again in their November 1986 magazine.
For DeVasquez Playboy was a springboard of opportunity that helped her launch a successful modeling and acting career. Her 34-23-34 measurements and exotic face have made her a popular choice for sexy acting roles. She has been seen on television shows including "Married with Children" and "Beat the Geeks" and she has also had roles in big screen movies that include "Low Down Dirty Shame" and "Can't Buy Me Love".
In addition to her book "The Naked Truth about a Pinup Model" Devin DeVasquez is keeping busy with modeling, photography and other writing pursuits. She is also developing specialized merchandise lines for the national market. Devin is now romantically involved with soap opera star Ron Moss and says that her life is better than ever.
