They are both of the same family and both can be taken in their fruit or juice form. The taste isn't to everybody's liking so the juice can be added to apple juice to lessen the flavour. These work by stopping the bacteria from attaching themselves to the bladder wall.

3) Pineapples - These contain bromelain which is a natural enzyme that can help to destroy the UTI. You just need to eat a slice or two a day to get the effects.

4) Echinacae - This is one of the lesser known natural remedies for urinary tract infection but works quite well. Obtain the tea from any health food shop and feel the benefits of it's natural antibiotic properties.

5) Water - Good old water can be used in a few ways as the simplest of all natural remedies for urinary tract infection. Drinking plenty of it will lessen the effects of your cystitis infection in two ways. Firstly by diluting the infection and secondly by flushing the infection out of our system. It can also be used in a hot water bottle to ease the pain until the other UTI remedies kick in.
