How to Assemble A Great Home Cinema System
by Stella Manson(2)
It is amazing how expensive it has gotten to go see a film. While this used to be a great option for an inexpensive night out, that is no longer the case. As a result of the increasing price of going to see a film, many people have decided to bring this experience to the comfort of their own home. If this sounds appealing to you, it's important that you learn the basics of how to assemble a great home cinema system. Once you have this type of system set up in your home, you will be able to enjoy as many films as you want without needing to pay a hefty fee to view each one.
Although there are a wide range of options available when it comes to setting up a home cinema system, almost all of them share the same basic components. Your system will begin with a television. If you have the space and are also interested in making your home cinema experience as immersive as possible, you may want to consider a projector. In addition to your television or projector, you will also have a receiver. The receiver will act as the brain of your cinema system. While some receivers have a DVD or Blu-ray player built into them, with others you will need to purchase one of these players and then connect it to your receiver.
The components that will bring your home cinema to life are the speakers that you add to it. A standard system features a centre channel speaker. It also features right and left speakers that set in front of you. The real magic of this kind of system comes from the additional surround speakers that will be placed in different areas of your room. Finally, to give you the richest audio experience during big explosions and chase scenes, you will want to complete your system with a subwoofer.
When people are looking at options for their home cinema, many make the mistake of underestimating the importance of the centre channel speaker. However, this component will play a key role in your system. It will actually be responsible for producing over half the sound during any film that you view. When you begin looking at right and left front speakers, you will need to take into account how much space you have in your cinema room. If space isn't an issue, you may want to opt for larger speakers that go on the floor. If you need to be efficient with your space, bookshelf right and left speakers are an excellent choice.
The number of surround speakers you have will depends on the type of system that you want. A 5.1 system features two surround speakers, while a 6.1 adds an additional one. You can also opt for two pairs of surround speakers with a 7.1 system. Finally, you'll want to find the right subwoofer for your home cinema. To keep the bass from overpowering the rest of your system, make sure you choose an appropriate size of subwoofer to complement the other components of your cinema system.
