Dating Singapore - Cultural Differences in Romance

Some people may have this notion that romance, no matter which part of the globe you're in, is basically the same, meaning cheesy, corny and downright saccharin-sweet. Well, there may be some truth to that, dating Singapore has its notable set of differences. If you happen to drop by the country and gawk in amazement at the bevy of beautiful women surrounding you, don't think for one second you can just come up to them, throw a pick up line and get their phone numbers all in one night. It doesn't work that way. Social culture and upbringing is what sets the women of Singapore apart from those in other countries. So, if you think you can make use of all those techniques which women have fallen for in your country, think again.

One thing to take note of when you get your first hand experience of communication with Singaporean women is that they don't fall prey to your long list of pick up lines. They understand the meaning of the word cliche and can smell any personification of it a mile away. If you want to meet up with a woman in Singapore, do away with your list of throwaway lines, since it won't work on them.

What does work on them is a guy who treats them nicely and buys presents for them. When you look into deeper detail on how it goes, you'll eventually realize that dating for these women is actually quite old-fashioned, with you having to take them out to dinner in the fanciest restaurants around, along with your bouquet of flowers and a few expensive gifts. If there's one thing you can learn from them, it's how to be a true gentleman, as you walk or take them back to their doorstep and wish them goodnight.

Also, avoid trying to impress women with the number of activities you're engaged in. Going to the gym to work on your biceps and pectorals isn't going to do you much good, since Singaporean women aren't superficial at all, having to depend on the size of a man's arms or how many visible abdominal muscles he's got to be impressed. It's rather complex, dating women in Singapore. You can't always go out with them alone, expecting to have some quality time spent with them. You see, when you date a Singaporean woman, you date her friends as well. They have this need to seek approval from their friends in terms of how you are as a person, and their friends, in turn, will want to know more about you to gauge you're worthy of your date's time.

The last thing to remember when dating Singapore - it doesn't matter if you're handsome or not. Socializing is the key element here, and you have to make an effort to converse with them and get to know them better.
