How To Add A Royal Touch To Your Wedding Reception

Most women dream of their fairy tale wedding from when they are little girls. So when you have found Mr Right and he's popped the question, why not go all out and live your dreams with the perfect wedding reception. This Friday the world will be focusing on the royal wedding of Kate and William. There is no doubt that this wedding story for Kate is what dreams are made of, but if you too wish to spend a truly incredible day, here are some ideas on how to add a royal touch to your wedding.

The first thing to organise is the location and what better place to stage your wedding reception than in a castle. If you can't book a castle, a ballroom in a top 5 star hotel will offer that royal effect. The entrance is another important factor to get right, so try and make it as grand as possible. Try to position violinists or trumpeters at the entrance and arrange for buckets of confetti and rose petals to be thrown as you enter.

The next element to get right is the decor. This needs to be elegant, extravagant and radiate sophistication. A great technique to use is to drape luxurious fabrics from the ceiling, walls and tables. Centrepieces need to be carefully selected as they can add a lot to the atmosphere of the room. Sculptures, candles and bouquets can add an element of extravagance and perhaps choose royal symbols to the decor.

Finally, what you wear is key to setting the right atmosphere at your wedding reception. Apply the royal dress code and everyone will look simply stunning. Men may wish to replicate the military uniform that Prince William wears or they may prefer to wear a morning suit. A morning suit consists of trousers, waistcoat and tails, sometimes this attire may include a top hat. If you want to wear a more modern version of the traditional morning suit, then a lounge suit may be the choice for you. Ladies can wear elegant day dresses (usually strapless) and they may wish to match their dress to a lovely summer hat.

Dreams can come true and your fairy tale can be organised with careful planning. Follow these ideas and your wedding reception can have that royal feeling. Feel free to even come up with some of your own ideas to use to make your day an unforgettable moment.
