In the Times When I Was Young
by IvanPetryshyn
Ivan Petryshyn
when I was young, young, young,
I had more fun, fun, fun,
and I had done, done, done
a lot of things,
and I did run, run, run,
when it was rain, rain, rain,
when there was the sun, sun, sun,
I also had a gun, a toy gun
with which I hunted, too,
having that toy, toy, toy,
being a boy, boy, boy,
what could I do?
I read a lot, lot, lot,
I studied, too, too, too,
I hated plots, plots, plots...
I gathered thoughts, thoughts,
and, what else could I do?
I thought the world was nice
under the blue, blue skies,
I also hated lies,
and liked some cakes and pies,
I didn't wear ties,
I wanted to be wise
and I was gently nice-
I didn't know the mean
and didn't like the beans,
and I was very keen,
and also very lean,
when I was young and teen.
when I was young, young, young,
I liked to read and write,
I didn't like to fight,
I used to read at night,
I knew "what's wrong and right",
I liked the light and th' bright,
and I believed in good,
I didn't need much food
being in a good mood,
and I was never rude,
I liked the fields and woods,
I didn't wear hoods,
I had some friends, not dudes,
I wore sandals and boots
liking to experiment
I always said what I meant,
and always told the truth,
even when I did lose,
but I did know I could
learn many things,
if I learned,
and as it turned
I was right and only one advice-
don't pardon jerks, be wise!
