This Hopeful Kid Wore A Bright Green Shirt For School Picture Day, And The Result Was Epic

School pictures are often a stressful experience for a parent and an annoying experience for a kid. Usually, the results of the photographs make any annoyance worth it. However, this poor kid put plenty of effort into his pictures, and didn’t exactly reap the rewards he was hoping for!

Trying So Hard To Get It Right

Laurel Boone Hutsell hasn’t had much luck with school pictures for her son, Carter. Carter has managed to accidentally blend in with the photo company’s backdrops several years at school, wearing a shirt that matches the color of their choice. So, this year, Laurel vowed to get his images just right.

As a result, Laurel trained an easygoing Carter for days on what he should do when the big moment came. She taught him to smile in a sweet fashion, helped him perfect his hair, and made sure to pick out a shirt that wouldn’t make Carter’s entire body disappear. But of course, Carter’s usual luck came back to haunt him.

Oh No, Not Again

For his photos, Laurel sat down with Carter and found the perfect shirt for him to wear. They decided on a bright-green polo. Now, normally, photo backdrops for yearbook pictures are a more subtle color. Gray, turquoise, and brown are popular options. Not neon green…right?

Unfortunately, Carter’s school decided to go with a photo company who used a backdrop that was – you guessed it – blindingly green. After all the work that Carter and Laurel put into preparing Carter for the special pictures, you’d think the duo would be devastated. However, they couldn’t help but laugh at the hilarious results that Laurel received a few days after!

Okay, These Pictures Are Pretty Epic

Carter’s school chose to email the parents pictures of their students to make sure everyone was happy with their results. When Laurel opened her images of Carter, she couldn’t control her laughter. While Carter perfected his grin, his entire torso had disappeared into the green screen they used!

“I really couldn’t believe my handsome boy’s head and arms were just floating there,” she admitted. “And guess what? His smile and hair are PERFECT!” Compared to the potential reaction of any mom to bad school photos, Laurel is taking these hysterical shots like a champ. And really, with images as fantastic as these, what’s to complain about? They’ll make for a hilarious memory later.
