Kid Surprises the Life Out of a Cop With This Amazing Note

Noah Smalling is just 9 years old, but he solved his mother’s problems and surprised the life out of a cop on the same day. Here’s proof, if you need it, that you get out of life what you put in.

Trouble At Home

Noah’s mom Amanda Cartin was having serious financial problems. Her son was sick, her husband was gone and the bank account was empty. Then came the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Amanda got a parking ticket and when she went to resolve it, she got another, and then during an eviction battle, she got another one. It felt like the cycle would only end when her family could no longer afford to eat.

Noah Steps Up To The Plate

Noah knew he had to do something to help his mom, but what? He didn’t want to argue with a police officer about parking tickets, because he wants to be a police officer when he grows up. Then one day in a restaurant, he hatched a plan. PD

He saw a police officer having his breakfast and asked his mom if he could use his birthday money to buy the cop breakfast. He figured that might just get the police officer to listen to him about the family problems.

He Sent A Note

Officer Benitez had no idea it was coming. He opened up his check to find a note that will break your heart. PD

Noah said, “I want to be you when I grow up. Thank you for your service.” Noah had already paid the officer’s tab.

The Outcome Of Noah’s Gesture

Officer Benitez said on Facebook, “Well Noah you touched all of our hearts today. Your support means so much to all of the men and women who put on the uniform every day. We wish you the happiest of Birthdays!”

Then after getting to know the family, he arranged to get Amanda’s parking tickets scrapped, so Noah’s strategy of getting to know a police officer worked perfectly. One last thing — Officer Benitez now carries Noah’s note with him everywhere. He says, “I’ve got it right here, ‘cause I’m gonna keep it as long as I can.”
