Louisiana Has a 4-Year-Old Police Officer and Isn’t he Adorable

The words “cute” and “cop” are rarely ever used in the same sentence, but all that changed when four-year-old Jake of Gonzales, Louisiana got the birthday present of a lifetime. Thanks to a friendly police officer, Jake became an honorary cop of his hometown for an entire day.

Kid Cop Gets Promoted

Jake has forever been fascinated with policemen. He loved them so much that his parents even bought him an authentic, little uniform for him to play in. And indeed, day after day, young Jake patrolled his house and front yard to restore order, as well as protect and serve who ever happened to be on the family’s property. But as hard as Jake worked, he was still handling small-time cases, until finally, his big day came and the Gonzales Police Department offered the young cop a very overdue promotion.

Future Cop In Training

One Sunday afternoon, Jake was playing in his police uniform when Officer Tyson, from the Gonzalez Police Department, pulled over and got out of his car and offered to take Jake on the ride of his life. Fortunately, Jake’s neighbor Natasha Henderson was there to document the whole thing. According to her, Jake’s “eyes were so big… His face showed so much happiness, and he was surprised.”

As the pictures show, Office Tyson brought Jake on a mini Training Day of traffic duty. In one instance, Officer Tyson got a car to stop and told Jake to go over and inform the driver that he didn’t do anything wrong. After breaking the encouraging news to the drive, Jake then gave him a firm handshake and the two parties went on their respected ways. Jake was “so excited about everything and he kept talking about it. He was mesmerized. It was amazing.”

To return the favor, Jake invited Officer Tyson to his birthday party the coming Saturday. Odds are, no one will ever top Officer Tyson’s gift.
