Photographer Dresses Infants as Disney Princesses in Magical Photoshoot
Photographers draw inspiration from the things they love and passionate about, which is why their creations are usually a reflection of what they hold most dear. For Karen Marie of Belly Beautiful Portraits, judging from her latest adorable photoshoot, she loves Disney princesses and babies.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of Disney princesses so I just wanted to just recreate some of the memories I have in my mind and with the babies I photographed on a daily basis,” Karen told InsideEdition.
For the Disney concept, the talented photographer worked with babies 3-6 weeks old and she hired a designer to create special dresses for the newborn. As for the props, Karen shared that she received a lot of help from family and friends.
“We found a pumpkin and spray-painted it silver for ‘Cinderella.’ My daughter made the withering rose for ‘Belle’. My husband gathered branches and created a cradle for ‘Snow White’ to lie in,” Karen said.
While the end results were outstanding and extremely beautiful, the shoot was not easy and Karen needed four assistants just to get the job done as newborns don’t really care how they are photographed.
“I had to keep the babies super warm and rock them and put them to sleep. ‘Sleeping Beauty’ slept naturally. ‘Cinderella’ was the one who didn’t want to sleep,” recalled Karen.
While she initially wanted to end the shoot with a group photograph of all the babies sleeping and dressed in their custom-made gowns, Cinderella was cranky and wouldn’t sleep so Karen just improvised and wrapped every baby in a blanket to make them comfortable.
The color of each blanket matched each Disney princess’ theme and the end result of Karen’s idea was beautiful beyond belief.
