Taylor Swift Seen In Public After Months Out of the Spotlight
All it took was a special day to draw ultra-famous pop star Taylor Swift from hiding, after she was spotted visiting her mom in Nashville in time for Mother’s Day celebrations.
The popular singer-songwriter had kept a low profile for months after a number of controversies and break-ups. Photographs emerged of Swift exiting her private plane and heading to her parents’ home Saturday where she stayed until the next day.
Swift’s last public appearance was three months ago when she performed at a Super Bowl weekend concert.
While the reason for her hiding remains unknown, many speculate that Swift wanted to be out of the spotlight for a while to let all the negative publicity about her die down.
The 27-year-old singer had a rough 2016 when she publicly feuded with reality star Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye West because of the rapper’s song, “Famous”. The lyrics of the song included the line: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous.”
West and Swift have a long history of hostility, beginning when the rapper stole Swift’s thunder during an award ceremony in 2009. While the following years were not exactly cordial between the two artists, things were much better until West wrote and released “Famous”.
West claimed he sought Swift’s approval but her camp denied it and then Kardashian publicly posting West and Swift’s phone conversation about the song.
Swift posted a long reply on her Instagram account, the last lines of which read “Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination. I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009.”
This drama and her infamous dating record probably caused the pop star to stay away for a while.
