Tilda Swinton on George Clooney’s Baby News: “I Have the Last Laugh”

British actress Tilda Swinton has said she is finally getting back at fellow actor and now-parent, George Clooney, for all the times he made fun of her when she was struggling to raise twins, Honor and Xaveir.

“I have twins myself and George always used to laugh about me looking so tired when the twins were small, and now I have the last laugh,” said the Narnia actress to the reporters present in the New York City premiere of her movie “Okja” as reported by People.

The 56-year-old actress made the remark as a comment on the news of George Clooney and wife, international law and human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, welcoming their newborn twins earlier this month.

Swinton and Clooney are good friends, having starred in a couple of movies together including the recent comedy “Hail, Caesar!” directed by the Coen brothers.

Apart from jokingly saying she has “the last laugh”, Swinton also offered some parenting advice to new dad Clooney – “He’s going to need some sleeping pills.”

The actor is a first-time dad at the age of 55 and has admitted in an interview that his friends have been teasing him about this fact – “We went out to dinner the other night and it’s a table of eight guys and all their kids are away in college, and we are sitting there and they were all being supportive, ‘Everything is going to be great, you’re going to love it’. Then it got really quiet and they all just started making baby crying and the whole table just busted up laughing.”

The actor may have his work cut out for him but he is apparently embracing the challenge together with his wife saying: “We are really happy and really excited. It’s going to be an adventure. We’ve sort of embraced it all with arms wide open.”
