Heckling Man Gets Invited Onto Wimbeldon Court But Has to Wear Skirt First
Chris Quinn is a tennis fan who was comfortably watching a female doubles match involving Belgian Grand Slam Winner Kim Clijsters when the most unexpected thing happened – he was invited by Clijsters to come down to the court and hit her serve after yelling from his seat that Kim should do a “body serve” during a match at Wimbeldon.
“Kim had said to the audience, ‘will I serve left or right?’ and I said ‘body serve’, and the next thing you know, she responded to my shout-out by saying, ‘do you think you can handle my serve?” Quinn told CBS Sports.
While Quinn was eager to play the “game of his life”, Clijsters noticed that he wasn’t wearing white, the traditional Wimbledon attire so the pro player rushed to her bag and grabbed a spare uniform for the oversized man.
“Before she was about to serve to me, she runs over to her bag, pulls out what I thought was a pair of shorts, but as she got closer I realized it was a skort,” Quinn recalled.
In the video of the match that had been viewed and shared a million times on social media, Quinn can be seen struggling to wear the white uniform that was obviously too small for his large size but managed to do so nonetheless.
Clijsters was dying of laughter while serving. To the surprise of everyone, Quinn managed to return Clijsters first serve but fumbled on the rest.
When asked about the entire experience, Quinn said: “Life is too short not to say yes to things like that.”
Thanks to Clijsters, Quinn was able to keep her skort, which he planned to auction off for the benefit of the Gavin Glynn Foundation as announced on his Twitter post.
Apparently, Clijsters is cool with Quinn selling her jersey for charity as she had been retweeting posts about Quinn’s upcoming auction.
