People Just Can’t Stop Talking About This 7-Year-Old Who Sang The National Anthem At Soccer Game

Soccer fans were treated to a special surprise in September when seven-year-old Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja delivered an impressive performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a soccer match. The crowd was stunned at the young girl’s perfect performance. Now the video has spread on social media and people can’t stop listening to this girl belt out the National Anthem!

Belting Out To Fans

Tjandrawidjaja belted out the National Anthem before a Los Angeles Galaxy and Seattle Sounders soccer match in September. She sang in front of a crowd of 25,000, but that didn’t scare her. She focused on the song and what it meant to the United States.

“I was thinking that I cannot do anything wrong because it’s a really special song to America,” the young performer said.

And it was just by pure luck when Tjandrawidjaja was selected to perform at the Los Angeles match.

One Lucky Winner

The Los Angeles Galaxy hosted a social media contest to select a performer to sing the National Anthem. Tjandrawidjaja entered and was surprised when she won!

Lucky for her, she was more than prepared. The young performer has been taking voice lessons since she was three years old.

“She’s been singing forever, basically before she could speak,” her father, Arman Tjandrawidjaja, shared with USA Today. “Sometimes, we have to tell her to be quiet.”

The singer also models and acts, and all of these skills eventually led her to stun the world with her perfect rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Gaining National Attention

Videos of Tjandrawidjaja’s performance spread on social media. Many Twitter users reacted to the video, complimenting the young singer for singing better than most performers at sports games. One user even called her a “little boss lady.”

LA Galaxy

Since her performance, the LA Galaxy referred to her as a “club legend.” Maybe she’ll be invited back in the future. She certainly wouldn’t disappoint!
