‘Acquired Tastebuds’ Rejoice Or Recoil Over Cadbury Creme Egg-Flavored Mayonnaise

Updated

Heinz unveiled itself as an industry disrupter, following the company’s latest release of a Cadbury Creme Egg-flavored mayonnaise. Tongues couldn’t stop wagging with delight or disgust over the unbelievable concept. After Heinz made an official announcement about its buzz-worthy mayonnaise on April 1st, sub sandwiches lovers were in for a surprise.

Freaky Food Fusion

There are plenty of food marriages that are a match made in heaven, from peas and carrots to macaroni and cheese. The wacky mayonnaise that Heinz was offering from April 11-13th at London’s Truman Brewery— caused more stomach-churning anxiety than salivation. Despite any apprehension, daring foodies still lined up in mass to check out Heinz’s latest mayonnaise.

Heinz threw everyone a curveball when they advertised their newest creation on April 1st, as its mashup of Cadbury Creme Eggs and mayonnaise was no practical joke. Where’s the Easter Bunny for an explanation when you need one? A culinary monstrosity fit for the bravest of masochists was birthed combining two favorite food items, with no check or balance.

Melt In Your Mouth

Condiment lovers the world over want to trust and believe in a brand that has a label reading “Seriously Good Mayo,” but even established brands can get a little carried away.  Developing a mayonnaise with visible chunks of Cadbury Creme Egg was inspired by a past April Fool’s joke.

Thankfully, this combination of chocolate and fluffy mayo wasn’t destined to see the light of day in grocery store aisles. The controversy that Heinz trumped up, definitely blew up the Internet, as many thought Heinz had gone mad.

Savor The Flavor

Online, Heinz’s official Twitter stated: “We weren’t kidding, Heinz Creme Egg Mayo is a thing! Who wants to try it? OF COURSE YOU DO!” Twitter user, minxnicki responded, “Someone needs to have a word with their taste testers. They’ve lost the plot!” A user named eringallant was a bit more upbeat, stating, “Omg I need this.”

Heinz certainly ruffled a few feathers, but some people were excited to devour a spoon of Cadbury Creme Egg Mayo straight out of the jar. Nevertheless, condiments will never be the same again.
