Amazing Pictures Of Cute Cats That Will Brighten Your Day
It may be impossible to understand cats, but we can certainly admire their beauty and cuteness. Cats have skills unlike any other animal on the planet, such as turning into liquid, bread, disappearing completely and acting like humans. Many of their traits lead people to believe that cats might, in fact, be aliens from another planet sent to earth to observe us while they plot to overthrow the human race. Sadly, they are well on their way. They have already taken over the internet which is one of the last steps to complete world domination. Read on to discover some of the most adorable cats from around the internet doing amazing and cute things.
1. A Riddle Wrapped in a Mystery Inside an Enigma
If you don’t believe that cats are mysterious and magical, this photo will prove it. The ginger cat in the background appears to be studying the human technology of electricity while the ragdoll cat looks like he was interrupted uploading a picture of himself to the internet. Or maybe he was editing out evidence that he is a space cat.
By the look on the ragdolls’ face, he was in the midst of plotting for world domination. Actually, if you think about it it makes sense… Cats are alien invaders who were sent to Earth to study us and learn how to take over the planet. It looks like they are succeeding.
2. Cat Viewing
Cats own humans, that is a known fact. They are also very good at controlling humans into doing their bidding. One activity they love to make us do is called “cat viewing.” Cats love to be admired and they have deemed glass tables to be the very best altar to admire them on, so all of their beauty can be seen. Even the forbidden belly.
Humans are allowed to view the belly at a safe distance, but NEVER try to touch it. They have also made sure that the unworthy catless humans, who aren’t able to view a cat in real life, have an endless supply of cat photos and videos online. That is certainly very generous of our feline overlords.
3. Passionate Pianists
Those of us that were forced to play the piano as children can easily understand this cat. While humans constantly hide their true emotions, cats let you know exactly what they are feeling and at the exact time when they are feeling it.
If cats don’t like something they have no qualms about biting it or scratching it. If they like something or someone they will show their love and affection. Maybe humans should take note from their feline companions. If we were all more honest and upfront about our emotions, like cats, we could improve our interpersonal relationships. Then again, co-workers probably wouldn’t react well to having their food stolen and being bitten all the time.
4. Space Cats
This cat’s cloaking device seems to be malfunctioning and landed somewhere between a black cat and a ginger cat. Further proof that cats are aliens! Fine, maybe they’re not, but they have been to outer space. As a matter of fact, France was the first nation to send a cat into space.
France sent a cat into outer space in October of 1963. The cat’s name was Felicette. She underwent special training to simulate the launch and reentry of the rocket. She was in space for a full 15 minutes, then returned safely home.
5. Time Wasted
This cutie’s human spent over five hours cutting up cardboard boxes to construct a massive castle house for their cat. Needless to say, the cat spent all of five minutes in the house, managed to break it in multiple places and left, never to return again.
Had the human asked, they would have been informed that the cat only wants to play in empty boxes. Empty boxes provide endless entertainment for cats–we thought everyone knew that. Well, you live and learn. And there is a LOT to be learned from cats.
6. The Weather Cat
This feisty feline not only lives at the news station, he also helps predict the weather. His name is Lupin and frequently appears on the local news in Germany. A clip of the weather segment went viral and many users demanded that from now on all weather be reported by someone holding a cat.
After all, there is nothing more comforting and reassuring than a person holding a cat. After seeing the chilly temperatures in Western Germany, Lupin ran over to provide the meteorologist with some much-needed warmth. Hopefully, we haven’t seen the last of Lupin.
7. It Fits
Cats are magical creatures that can morph into almost any shape or size. At times they are solid, other times they turn into a liquid form or disappear into another dimension completely. This cat has morphed into what is known as “bowl form.”
It is not recommended to own both cat and glassware at the same time, as a cat’s second favorite hobby is to gracefully push objects off ledges. Their first hobby is, of course, napping. If the bowl survives the night, please make sure to wash it before serving your guests food out of it, no one wants to be ‘that’ person.
8. The Zen Master
This cat is the master of all things zen, as well as a master of sleeping, lots of sleeping. This cat’s name is Shironeko, one of Japan’s most famous cats. His name literally means ‘white cat’ in English. And he is always content.
Shironeko has a permanent smile etched on his face and looks calm and serene everywhere he goes, and everywhere he goes to sleep. In this picture, Shironeko is taking a quick cat nap in the cabbage patch. Shironeko-sensei, please teach us your Zen ways.
9. Much Meats
Cats are carnivores, meaning they eat meat. Not just because they want to or like it, they are physiologically designed to eat meat and require it to live a long and healthy life. Vegetarian or Vegan diets are fine for herbivores like rabbits and goats, but for cats such a diet is dangerous and can even be deadly.
“Trying to feed a cat a vegan diet would be like me feeding my horses meat. You’re taking a whole species of animal and trying to force it to eat something that it isn’t designed to handle,” Veterinarian Dr. Olson said.
10. Pirate Cat
Arrrghhh mateys! It’s the pirate cat and he be walkin’ the plank. This cat certainly won an award for best Halloween costume, on top of breaking the internet with its cuteness. But what’s more impressive than that, is that someone got him into that costume.
Cats are not known for being particularly cooperative when it comes to wearing any type of clothing. Generally speaking, if you try to put clothes on a cat you’ll end up with bite marks and a large number of lacerations. Ya better not commit any ‘mewwtny’ while he’s around!
11. The Forbidden Fruit
One of these items is not like the other. Can you guess which? This little ball of fluff should for sure be classified as forbidden fruit because of its cuteness. Just imagine coming home from the grocery store to find that your kiwi isn’t a kiwi at all.
We can’t imagine a better surprise than receiving this little one along with a few kiwis. Unless you’re allergic to kiwis that is, which in that case you can just have the kitten. The similarity between the kitten and the fruit is astounding.
12. The Treasure Hunter
This little sweety is named Baloo. She loves her owner so much that she showers him with gifts on a daily basis. Baloo would regularly bring gifts of mice and birds but soon noticed that her owner didn’t much appreciate them.
Baloo took the hint and started bringing her owner gifts of leaves. Her owner picks up the gift leaves every day and together they play with them. Usually, Baloo ends up destroying the leaf, but she just goes out and picks another perfect leaf the next day.
13. Aliens Among Us
This cat is proof that aliens are indeed among us. Insanely cute aliens that just want love that is. This guy’s name is Gimo, he is a Scottish fold and lives in South Korea along with his human and two other cats.
But be warned, stare into his hypnotic eyes long enough and you may fall victim to his mind control, which we can only imagine would mean spending all day cuddling him and giving him tasty treats. Wouldn’t be so bad really.
This flame-point Siamese cat named Diego went missing in June of 2015. He slipped out through the garage when no one was looking and, as an indoor cat, got lost. His owner, Iris, posted signs in the neighborhood and surrounding areas for over a year. She never gave up hope, and then…
On one miraculous day almost two years later, a friend told Iris to check the local shelter website as she had seen a cat similar to Diego. Iris raced down to the shelter and sure enough, it was him! The two were reunited and couldn’t be happier together.
Like the movie inception, cats are confusing. This photo shows one of the rare moments that a young kitten forgot to cloak the alternate realities it opened. A cat cuddling a cat, cuddling a cat. Take a moment to wrap your head around that one.
Many might think, “oh a kitten cuddling a doll,” but no. Those of us with a keen eye for feline trickery and general cat tom-foolery know better than that. This little one will grow up to be a wizard, let us all pray that he uses his powers for good and doesn’t fall victim to the darkness like so many others before him.
16. Spy Cats
Cats would make the purr-fect spies, right? Well, the CIA certainly thought so. In the 1960s the CIA launched Project Acoustic Kitty and they started turning cats into spies! They surgically fit cats with microphones and radio transmitters and sent them over to spy at the Soviet compound in Washington D.C.
The project was, however, a complete disaster. According to former CIA director Robert Wallace, the cats were impossible to train and the program was canceled shortly after it began. Seems they forgot one thing, humans don’t own cats, cats own them.
17. The Surprise Cat
This cute cat made a surprise appearance during a live on-air news broadcast. He jumped up on the news anchors desk and started walking around asking to be pet. When he didn’t get the attention he deserved, he laid down on his laptop in a true cat-like fashion.
The news anchor introduced the cat, letting audiences known that they had a surprise guest on the show. He added that “winter is on the way, we have to adopt and open our doors to stray animals and provide them water, food and love.” The surprise guest cat was adopted shortly after the show ended.
18. Human Sitting
One of the most bizarre things cats can do is sit like humans. There’s something about the position that makes people feel uneasy and doubt whether their cat is actually a cat. Especially this particular cat along with his trusty duck at his side.
In the wild, animals will rarely expose their undersides as it makes them more vulnerable to attacking predators. But, when they feel comfortable, domesticated animals may sit or lay in vulnerable positions when they feel safe and secure at home.
19. Cuddle Monsters
Ever wondered why cats love to cuddle? It’s because they learn the trait very early in their lives. When they are you kittens, they are unable to regulate their body temperature and must stay as close to their mother for safety as possible.
As adults, they keep some of these traits. Meaning, if your cat cuddles with you, they consider you part of their family and feel warm and safe around you. Even adult feral cats will cuddle together for warmth under certain circumstances.
20. Witches & Black Cats
Black cats began being associated with the witches in the mid-14th century, so much so that the Pope ordered for people to kill them. The decreased cat population led to a rise in rodents which spread the black plague across Europe.
Had there been more cats, many lives would have been saved. Today, some people still associate black cats with bad luck or Halloween. But did you know that black cats are actually considered good luck in certain countries such as Japan and Russia?
21. The Cat’s Meow
Another strange thing about cats is that they love to eat grass. They will sneak away your food as well, given the chance, (part of their ninja abilities) but nothing satisfies their tummies more than munching down on some grass or a houseplant you were trying to keep alive.
According to the experts, cats eat grass for a number of reasons. One is to supplement their diet with the folic acids grass juice contains. Another reason is that grass is a natural laxative and helps keep your cat regular. It also helps relieve an upset stomach.
22. I Scream For Ice Cream
Cats are notorious food thieves and picky eaters. You might notice that many times they will give human food just a lick or a nibble before growing bored of it. That’s because what they really want is meat. Juicy, tender, meat.
Interesting fact: Cats are unable to taste sweet things. While humans have five different kinds of taste buds (sour, bitter, salty, meatiness, and sweet), cats only have four types of taste buds. Given the opportunity, cats, like cats in the wild, would exclusively eat meat.
23. Not Amused
This cat’s expression says it all. He is not impressed with his human’s shenanigans. No, cats do not want your silly tiny food, they want your full-sized human food. Even if it’s just to steal it away from you and not eat it.
Dogs, on the other hand, will eat anything you give them, even non-edible items. But cats are not so easily fooled. If this cat were a Taco Bell spokescat, his slogan would definitely be, “Yo no quiero tu minúsculo Taco Bell!”
24. Hidden Talents
Cats are capable of doing everything humans do, the difference is cats just choose not to. Otherwise, they might be expected to work. This cat was caught walking on two legs like a human which makes us wonder what else cats are doing when we aren’t looking.
As Mark Twain once said, “Of all God’s creatures, there is only one that cannot be made slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve the man, but it would deteriorate the cat.”
25. Check Under The Cat
The space underneath your cat is like a portal to a hidden dimension. Your cat will hide all the items that are most important to you, including the item you are looking for at this very moment in this under-belly dimension.
Lost your keys? They’re probably under the cat. Can’t find your glasses? Cat. On your way to work and need your bag/purse? The cat will certainly be on top of it. This cat here has hoarded their human’s morning coffee while it’s still warm.
26. The Evil of Water
It’s well-known that cats hate water, like super-duper claw your eyes out hatred (although there are some exception-cats). Turns out it’s in their DNA. Modern-day cats are ancestors of felines that lived in mostly dry and arid environments, they never learned how to swim and that gene stuck with modern cats.
Cats are also only partially resistant to water, so if they are submerged in water they become drenched and weighed down, something they do not like. Another reason why cats hate baths is that it changes the smell of their fur, making it so they have to clean themselves all over again to get rid of the foreign scent.
27. Just Trying To Help You
Cats do not understand why humans spend so much of their time doing meaningless and mundane tasks. Why not enjoy life like cats do? If you have ever wondered why they try to prevent you from working on your computer or watching a TV show, this is why.
To them, all they see is a human mindlessly staring at a screen in some weird type of trance. In fact, cats are just trying to help us by obstructing our view in hopes that we will be released from the hypnosis of staring into an inanimate object for the rest of our lives.
28. I Choose You
You don’t adopt cats, cats adopt humans. That is the golden rule of catting. You never know when one will accept you as their own. You might be surprised to hear about all the different ways people come to have cats.
It’s not uncommon for previously catless people to wake one day to find that they now have a cat in their home, whether they like it or not. Take the cat in the picture as example. A woman woke one day to find this feline in her closet.
29. Ninja Abilities
The reason that cats are able to change their form, fold into the wind and were used by the CIA as spies, is that feline come from an ancient line of Japanese ninja. When they don’t want to be found, you will never find them.
Should a human be foolish enough to turn their head while eating anything that their furry felines desire, it will vanish and reappear in the cat’s belly. Still today, scientists are unable to determine the source of the cats’ magical powers.
30. A Dark Legacy
Firemen are constantly seen rescuing cats from trees and pulling cats out of burning buildings. But have you ever asked yourself why that is? According to a certain group of conspiracy theorists, it’s all an act to gain the trust of the general public.
Many believe that spiteful cats are using dark magic to set fires, then look adorable and innocent when they are being saved by the firemen. The group also believes that cats are just pretending to get stuck in trees in order to appear dumb and incompetent while they are actually trying to take over the world.
31. Water Style
This is another example of a cat that has changed into their liquid form. He is seen pouring out of his bed on the floor like a waterfall. Doesn’t look comfortable, does it? Well, while in liquid form, almost any position is comfortable.
A liquid is defined as something that is capable of taking of shape of the container it is being held in while retaining volume. If you have ever seen a cat take the shape of a bowl or box, then you know that they can indeed become liquid.
32. Cool Cats
Everyone wants to be a cool cat. But only cats themselves have the capability of being an actual cool cat. This cat is chilling in a lid wearing some totally wicked shades. He is certainly living the good life without a care in the world.
We don’t know about you, but this is certainly the coolest cat we have ever seen. Someone take him to the beach and get him a margarita because it’s five o’clock somewhere.
Read on, the next cat is so adorable some say they’re the cat’s pajamas.
33. Mother Cat
Cats are very nurturing animals. This cat hasn’t left the family’s new infant since the day he was born. But this might be an exception. In most cases, cats tend to ignore babies or run away from their constant screaming.
Cats are not thought of as the best pets to have around babies but that isn’t true. Most mother report that the worst part of having both a cat and a baby is that cats will wake babies up with their meows. Still, it’s not recommended to leave your baby alone unsupervised with any animal. No matter how trustworthy.
34. Furry Fruit
It’s a misconception that cats are solitary animals. They are actually very social animals. The reason for this misconception is that they hunt small animals that only provide food for one, so they hunt alone. Unlike dogs, that hunt in packs.
If cats hunted in packs, that would certainly be a terrifying sight. Let’s all take a moment to be thankful that isn’t the case. Did you know that a group of cats is called a clowder? And a group of kittens is adorably called a kindle.
35. Mirror, Mirror
A cat’s brain is astoundingly similar to a human’s brain, in fact, it 90% similar. Meaning that cats are highly intelligent animals. They are also capable of being self-aware. When they look into a mirror they are able to understand that they are seeing a reflection of themselves.
We aren’t sure what this cat is thinking though, looking at such a distorted image of himself. Or maybe he isn’t looking at himself at all. Maybe he is attempting to contact evil spirits in the mirror dimension, or checking on people he has trapped in the mirror. Who knows.
