Boy Sends Letter To Dad In Heaven And Gets Heartwarming Response From U.K.’s Royal Mail

When a family member passes away, holidays and birthdays are often a difficult and emotional time. However, a phenomenal mail carrier ensured that one boy knew his dad’s birthday letter reached him all the way in Heaven.

A Unique Birthday Wish

When James Hyndman’s birthday rolled around, his son, 7-year-old Jace, wanted to do something special for his father. However, the circumstances were a bit complicated. James passed away back in 2014, and Jace set his mind on accomplishing a massive task: getting a letter to Heaven.

Each year on their dad’s birthday, Jace and his 10-year-old sister, Neive, try to commemorate their father’s special day. This year, Jace’s dreamed of getting a card to his dad and put in the effort to ship a precious post off to Heaven. While this task may sound impossible, an incredible act of kindness ensured that his letter reached the stars.

A Touching Heaven-Bound Letter

Jace wrote out a thoughtful letter for his dad, addressing it: “Mr. Postman, can you take this to heaven for my dad’s birthday.” Jace’s mother, Teri Copland, didn’t expect any sort of response to the unique message. However, after a few weeks, an incredibly comforting letter appeared in their mailbox.

Royal Mail didn’t ignore Jace’s strangely addressed letter. Instead, they decided to respond in a heartfelt fashion to his sweet plea for a successful delivery. They went out of their way to make sure Jace knew his letter reached his father safely!

Royal Mail’s Incredible Response

In a touching gesture, Royal Mail wrote a letter to Jace to let him know that they “succeeded in the delivery of your letter”, despite having to avoid “stars and other galactic objects on route to Heaven.” Considering that Jace’s letter could’ve easily gone unresponded, Teri was overwhelmed with emotion at Royal Mail’s kindness.

Jace was so joyful that his dad really got his letter, and Teri couldn’t thank Royal Mail enough. “You didn’t have to make the effort to do this…the fact that yous have made the effort for a little boy you’ve never met is such a lovely thing to do,” she noted on Facebook. It’s certain that Jace will never forget the special delivery of his letter due to the help of an incredible group of postmen!
