Daughter Reunited With Lost Teddy Bear With Military Dad’s Recording

One of the biggest concerns a young children might have while traveling is of losing their toys. For six-year-old Paisley, this fear became a reality as she lost one of her most treasured items: a teddy bear that has a recording of her father’s voice who is stationed overseas in Kosovo.

Losing Her Friend

For Paisley, her teddy bear named Lucy symbolizes “love and special.” As she describes, every squeeze is like receiving a hug from her father, a member of the United States Army National Guard. The bear has a recording of her father’s voice in order for Paisley to still hear him while he’s away overseas.

So, when she lost her special friend at Rhode Island’s T.F. Green Airport, she never thought she would see the bear again.

But, one person wasn’t going to let that happen.

Thank You, Social Media

WBZ-TV featured Paisley’s story, specifically focusing on her valuable teddy bear. To many, it was a surprise when the news story spread on Facebook to more than 3,000 people.

This includes JetBlue employee, Hayley Monfils. She had found the teddy bear at the airport prior to seeing the story on Facebook, but once she saw the story, she knew she was holding the same bear.

“I was scrolling through Facebook and I said, ‘I know that teddy bear. I just saw that!’” Monfils commented.

The next step would be to deliver the bear back to the eager little girl.

Finally Reunited

T.F. Green Airport kept Lucy the bear until WBZ-TV could deliver it to Paisley. As you can imagine, it was a happy reunion— one Paisley thought she would never have.
