Dog Hilariously Ruins Google Street View Scene By Chasing Car

Google Street View is a fun Google Maps feature that allows users to explore the world from the comfort of their own homes. If you’ve never managed to see the car that they use to take the pictures for the Street View feature, believe me when I say it’s pretty funny looking. The car has a globe-shaped array of cameras mounted a couple feet above it, with more cameras arranged below the globe.

Drawing Attention

The cars that zip around recording the footage usually manage to draw quite a bit of attention to themselves. That’s certainly true of the car that was recording a little dead-end street in the district of Kumage, in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.

In this case, the car was noticed by a little dog who appeared to be shading himself under a small boat. He perked up immediately when he spotted the funny looking vehicle, and you just know that something fun is about to happen.

The Chase

The dog’s hilarious journey is easy to follow along on Street View. He is seen speeding along behind the car, practically flying down the road trying to catch up to it.

He is a persistent little thing, following the car for the length of the street and even as it rounds a corner.

Japanese social media users had plenty to say about the pup, mostly about how sweet, curious, or frisky it looked. “I laughed so hard when I saw how far it chased the car!” one commenter said.

Some commenters said that the dog “looks like it’s saying, ‘What’s this that’s come down my road?’” and another noted that
“[a]s soon as it sees the odd-looking car, it knows something’s up.”.

It’s unknown who first noticed the silly scene or what happened when the crazy pup finally caught up with the car when it had to come to a stop on the dead-end street. Maybe they keep dog biscuits on hand for just such occasions?
