This ‘Donut Boy’ Is On a Mission To Honor Every Cop in the Country
Nine-year-old Tyler Carach the Donut Boy is a boy on a mission – “I wanted to thank every cop in America and give them each a donut!”
The youngster, who is now known as the Donut Boy, had the idea for his mission in August 2016 after learning how a simple gesture of giving donuts can make cops feel happy and appreciated.
“In August 2016 (when I was 8), I was at a local corner store when I saw 4 deputies. I told my mom that cops favorite drink was coffee and their favorite snack was donuts. She laughed!! Then I asked if I could buy them donuts with my own money. I DID and they were so HAPPY!” shared Tyler on his GoFundMe page.
Carach also learned why the police officers were so delighted about his kindness that he wanted to make every cop feels the same way.
“When we left I asked my mom why they were so happy and she said cops were having a hard time right now and that sometimes people choose to judge a whole by a few, and its important never to do that!” Carach wrote.
“I decided right then I wanted to cheer them up, so I told my mom I wanted to thank every cop in America and give them each a donut!” he continued.
While his mother tried to encourage him to just consider distributing donuts locally, Carach believed in the cause.
To date, the “Donut Boy” had already distributed more than 7,000 donuts to police officers and he is currently on a month-and-a-half road trip to make more cops in America happy.
Carach shared: “I am giving out over 10,000 donuts on this trip alone.”
The 9-year-old who travels all over the U.S. to spread joy and love wears a cape that aptly says, “I DONUT need a reason to THANK a cop”.
Tyler is raising $10,000 to complete his mission and is hoping to get the support of more people.
“I want to keep spreading joy to officers and keep inspiring others to put kindness back into the world!” wrote Carach.
