This Entire Family Can’t Stop Laughing When Grandma Reads This Children’s Book

Reading together as a family is known to have positive benefits for everyone involved. For this Scottish native grandma and her family, it not only was great bonding but a ton of laughs as well.

A Grandma’s Love

Originally from Scotland, Janice Clark found herself moving to Australia to be closer to her daughter Fiona and grandson Archer. She made the big move in order to help her daughter out with raising Archer and being an active part of his life.

One of her favorite things to do with Archer is reading him stories, and recently the whole family got a laugh out of one silly book.

The Wonky Donkey

Clark’s daughter suggested a New Zealand classic children’s book entitled The Wonky Donkey. They all quickly realized that the tongue-twister book, along with Clark’s thick accent, created a hysterical combination.

Not realizing her daughter was filming, Clark laughed her way through the twist of words describing the “spunky, hanky-panky cranky stinky dinky lanky honky-tonky winky wonky donkey” until tears were streaming down her face.

The video was eventually posted on a Facebook sewing group page where more than 4 million people watched it and cracked up.

Grandma Goes Viral

Once the video took off online there was no going back. Soon The Wonky Donkey was nearly sold out online, with publishers rushing to get more copies out. While author Craig Smith is thrilled with the attention his book is receiving, he especially loved watching the joy it brought to Clark’s family.

He stated, “Watching Janice read and laugh was just delightful, and like many, her infectious laugh had me laughing too.” As for Clark, she is in disbelief over the popularity of the video. Nonetheless, she’s thrilled that so many have found such enjoyment from it, “I’m glad I’ve managed to brighten up a lot of people’s days.”
