Krispy Kreme Is Releasing Its Specialty Green Donuts Just In Time For St. Patrick’s Day

Krispy Kreme is going green, at least for a little while! The popular donut shop is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, offering their same delicious donuts with a different look. St Patty’s Day is going to be super sweet!

The Light Is On

From March 15 to March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day weekend), Krispy Kreme’s glazed donuts will become the O’riginal Glazed donuts. They are made with a specially formulated green dough and covered in the shop’s tasty glaze.

Even though the donuts are green, they still have the same sweet taste that the shop is known for. The limited edition donuts will sell as quickly as they’re made, so make sure you get them while they’re warm!

Pots O’ Gold

In addition to these seasonal donuts, Krispy Kreme has another big plan on deck for the holiday. The shop is giving away “Golden Dozen” passes to winners online and at participating locations during the weekend.

The passes allow winners to get free original glazed donuts from Krispy Kreme ––a hot dozen per month–– for an entire year. That’s 144 donuts! Multiple customers will win a Golden Dozen pass each day.

St. Patty’s Fun

Krispy Kreme has made their donuts green for St Patrick’s Day before and they were a big hit. However, the Gold Dozen passes are a new initiative. Of course, the campaign celebrates the holiday while bringing in major sales for the company.

“What could be better than a green Original Glazed donut? Not much,” said Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer for the company. “But FREE original donuts for a year might do the trick. Stop by and maybe you’ll end up with both. That really could happen with a bit o’ luck! But you only have St. Patrick’s Day weekend to participate. So make sure that you stop into your local Krispy Kreme shop for some O’riginal Glazed donuts and a chance to win.
