5 Reasons To Love The Stress Release Trends Knows As ‘Rage Yoga’
Can you imagine if your favorite yoga class had more F-bombs than savasanas? That’s the concept that yoga instructor Ashley Duzich brought to life when she started her Rage Yoga class at the Brash Brewery in Houston, Texas. Here are the top five reasons why yoga, shouting, and beer are the new path to enlightenment.
The concept of Rage Yoga is revolutionary because it’s the complete opposite of conventional yoga. From yelling incoherently to screaming the F-word, “Namaste” takes on a whole new meaning. “We are all angry about something and we all have been holding onto an ‘F’-bomb for a little bit too long,” says Duzich.
One of the best things about Rage Yoga is taking delicious beer breaks during an intense stretch sesh. Sipping beer in between sweaty asanas sounds like the best thing in the world. What a fun and tasty concept. Not only is the first class free, but so is the first pint!
What silly pet peeve would you get off your chest if you took a Rage Yoga class? You’ll be surprised to hear the crazy things these yogis shout in class. Duzich recounts, “One of the funniest things I think I ever heard was, ‘I told you to do the dishes!'”
No Kids Allowed
This is not your typical mom-and-daughter-in-matching-leggings-set type of yoga class. Unless your kid is 21 and up, this class is for grownups only. No need to censor your not safe for work venting. “It’s definitely not for everybody and that’s totally OK… I also don’t recommend bringing your children,” says Duzich.
Nothing is better than the chance to vent your frustration in a not-so-conventional way. Instead of drinking alone, you’re shouting and drinking with friends in a positive way. Rage Yoga “allows you to have a safe space to let go of your and frustration and rage in a healthy way,” shares Duzich.
