This Teen Restored A Stranger’s Faith In Humanity With A Simple Cup Of Coffee
A mom was completely taken aback by a teen’s random act of kindness. So much so, that the woman decided to say thank you in the sweetest way!
Coffee On Me
One morning, 19-year-old Mackenzie Mauller from Union Town, Ohio, decided to do a small good deed for a stranger. While in the drive-through line at Starbucks, she bought coffee and breakfast for a woman who happened to be in the car behind her.
It was no huge deal to Mackenzie since others had paid for her coffee before. She just wanted to pay it forward. Well, it was a very big deal to the woman, Nicole Clawson, who later went above and beyond to repay the teen.
Falling On Hard Times
Nicole had been going through a pretty rough time. Her father, who babysat for her kids every day, had passed away. The mother was planning to quit her job to be a stay-at-home mom, though it truly wasn’t by choice. And, to top things off, her babysitter that day had called in sick, so Nicole had to take a day off from work.
With all of these emotions, Nicole went to Starbucks that morning. “It’s been hard because I am no longer providing income, but I decided to buy coffee for myself and breakfast for the kids,” the mom shared in an interview. “An employee at the order window said my coffee had been paid for — I was shocked.” Mackenzie’s kind act was the morale boost she needed. So Nicole decided she had to track down the teen and say thank you.
An Incredible Thank You
Nicole carefully trailed Mackenzie’s car and discovered this kind stranger didn’t live too far away from her! She just had to let this stranger know just how much that small act of kindness meant to her. Later, she decided to write a thank-you note and put it in Mackenzie’s mailbox. “I cried when I found out you were so sweet to buy my coffee and thrilled to see you pull in a couple houses down from where I live,” the note read. “I felt it necessary for you to know that what you did for me was more than just a coffee. It was something that has turned my whole day around, put tears in my eyes and a smile on my face and I feel so grateful.”
After receiving the note, Mackenzie went from house to house to find the mother of two. When they met, they hugged and cried. Mackenzie also shared the note on Twitter, which quickly went viral! Not only did strangers send the teen money (which she gave to Nicole), but Mackenzie also offered to help her babysit when needed.
