Get Glowing Skin With These Old School Tips

You know how your mom is always suggesting you slather on that home remedy to help with those acne scars, or maybe that sunburn that won’t stop itching? Well, she might have been on to something. Here are five old-school home remedies that have been proven to work on your skin.

Green Tea

Green tea, which is rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties can be used to clear up acne, as well as acne scarring. The best method for doing so would be to use the tea as a warm compress for those problem areas. For best results, do this several times a day.

Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has the potential to clear up your acne if applied correctly. Do not apply pure vinegar to your skin because this can lead to irritation. Instead, create a toner by diluting the cider with water. Apply the toner to skin with a cotton pad, after you’ve washed your face. Once it dries, rinse it all off.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is rich in vitamins and makes for a great natural moisturizer for your skin. In addition to moisturizing, it can also fight acne and lighten the blemishes on your skin. Take note, there is no need to purchase creams when you can harvest pure gel from the plant itself.

Avocados are not just great on toast, they are also great on your skin. Because they are rife with vitamins A, D, and E, they can soothe sunburn and aid in reducing inflammation.Try making a face mask by mixing the fruit with water. Apply it to the affected areas, leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse off.

Olive Oil

A little-known fact about olive oil is that it fights aging. With its strong supply of vitamin A and vitamin E, it has the potential to regenerate skin cells. The best part, there is no need to mix it with anything. Olive oil works best when applied directly to the skin. Simply moisturize with a few drops, a couple times a day.
