She Hit A Low

At her heaviest, Barrera weighed 223 pounds and was very unhappy with the way she looked.

“I have always had low self-esteem due to my weight and appearance,” said Barrera.

Two years ago, she felt like she had hit rock bottom and decided to make a change.

It Started At The Gym

Barrera was never a believer in fad diets, so she decided the key to her success would be working out regularly. Her workouts consisted of regular cardio and strength training, sometimes even working out twice a day.

“I’m still alive from working out twice a day,” shared Barrera. She’s convinced that her health would be significantly worse if she hadn’t made the change when she did.

The Transformation

Barrera maintained her rigorous regimen at the gym and started to see results. In the end, she when from 223-lbs to an astonishing 144-lbs (65 kg) in two years.

“I’ve never been this darn happy,” said Barrera, and she claims that the gym has become her second home.

Does she ever cheat? She admits that from time to time she allows for the odd cheat meal or cookie,  but for the most part, she’s remained strict.
